How much does certification cost?
An initial project registration fee is paid. Following registration, the design team will have access to all the calculators. Registration fees are non-refundable. The developer may then decide to proceed to certification.

Registration fees (from 10th February 2023 – may be subject to revision thereafter – Prices exclude VAT)
5 – 20 homes | € 500.00 |
21 – 100 homes | € 750.00 |
101+ homes | € 1000.00 |

These are calculated per home as follows:
5 – 100 @ €55/home
101 – 250 @ €45/home
251 – 500 @ €35/home
500+ @ €25/home
Example A – A development of 63 homes is calculated as follows : (63 x €55) = € 3,465.00
Example B – A development of 563 homes is calculated as follows : (100 x €55 + 150 x €45 + 250 x €35 + 63 x €25) = € 22,575.00
In all cases the registration fee must have been paid.
*Fees will not be refunded in the event a project team withholds a HPI certification application and/or terminates the registration for a project.
*Fees will be assessed and updated if warranted at the start of January every year.
*Projects seeking to target indicator EC 7.0 Innovation will be charged an additional €1000 (excl VAT) for each innovation proposal assessed.
Irish Green Building Council membership discount:
Developers who have membership with the Irish Green Building Council can receive a discount dependent on what tier their membership is. With the below tiers receiving the following discount:
Platinum – 25%
Gold – 15%
Silver – 7.5%
Standard membership – 2.5%
